The “Pozzoli” in the circuit of the more prestigious piano competitions
Barcellona 19th and 20th March 2018, the first technical conference organised by Alink Argerich Foundation
In the enchanting setting of the Palace of Music in Barcelona Spain, was held on 19th and 20th March, the first international conference of the most famous piano competitions worldwide.
This event, the first of its kind, was organised by the Dutch Alink Argerich Foundation established in 1999. The Foundation provides specialised technical support and advisory in disclosing and promoting calendars and schedules.
In light of the long-standing expertise gained over many years of activity, the Foundation has wished to offer an opportunity for meeting and confrontation to the organizers of those piano competitions that have now, on the international stage, a significant artistic recognition.
Over 100 were the competitions, representing 30 countries, participating at the conference through their delegations. The Pozzoli Competition Secretariat, who manages the Competition on behalf of local institutions, has followed the “two days” interesting work in Barcellona.
The definition of objective criteria and selecting procedure of candidates in order to guarantee the authority and impartiality of the examining juries, are among the many issues debated.
The conference was also an important occasion to enhamce and implement the respective organizational capacity and promotional activities, as part of an extended project to ensure music as a universal value and qualifying element of a historical-cultural identity of a territory.
Worth highlighting the presence of the “International Piano Competition Ettore Pozzoli” – Seregno, considered by all a trademark of unquestioned artistic excellence, as well as the so-called “Metodo Pozzoli”, highly regarded as a study method in teaching piano.
