Barbara Tolomelli got her piano diploma with Eli Perrotta, top grades cum laude, at “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan. She attended a master class under Boris Bloch and won many prizes in several National and International competitions.
Since 1978 she has been performing in many concert seasons in Italy and abroad, both as a soloist and in chamber orchestras. Her vast repertoire ranges from the XVII century to the contemporany age. In the season 1985-1986 at Teatro alla Scala (Milan), she performed – the first time in Italy – Trio in sol by Claude Debussy, together with the ensemble “Entr’Acte”.
In 1991, for the 200th anniversary of Mozart’s death, she performed all his Piano sonatas.
On the occasion, she was invited by the piano manufacturer Bösendorfer (Vienna) and by the Consulate of Austria in Italy to open the “Austrian Mozart Festival”.
